Small groups are one of the most vital functions of the church. A small group is a group of 8-16 people that meet in homes. In these smaller groups people can experience rich, meaningful relationships as they discover God together. Small groups at Evergreen also supply a practical support system for meeting one another’s needs. It’s easy to get involved in an Evergreen small group. You can visit our small group page to get specific information.
Evergreen Church is a contemporary, nondenominational, evangelical Christian church. We are affiliated with Great Commission Association. Our goal is to put New Testament Christianity in Action Today. That mission guides every aspect of our programs and ministry so that you experience it in ways that are tangible, practical and meaningful. We have five locations in the Twin Cities: we are "One Church with Many Locations."
Although we meet in five different locations throughout the Twin Cities, Evergreen is one church. We chose this strategy to keep our leadership team together, maximize office efficiency and create a greater sense of unity in our mission to reach the Twin Cities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Evergreen currently has locations in Lakeville, Bloomington, New Hope, and South Minneapolis - The Rock and The Urban Refuge. The Rock is an Evergreen church designed specifically to meet the needs of students, young couples and singles. The Urban Refuge is an Evergreen church designed to meet the needs of urban and multicultural families.
Church membership is an important step for any growing Christian. We offer a new member seminar at each location that covers the history, philosophy and strategy of Evergreen, your purpose in life, your personal walk with God as well as basic Christian principles. God wants you to be involved with the greatest and most fulfilling work on this earth, and that work is taking place in the church! This seminar will give you an opportunity to become a member in God’s church and become united with other believers as we pursue God’s will together, growing in our faith and impacting our world. Membership seminars are offered periodically throughout the year. Check the announcements for upcoming classes.
All teachings are recorded and available from our media library. Reviewing past messages reinforces what you’ve already heard and can help you grow in your spiritual life. You can listen while commuting, cleaning, exercising — the possibilities are endless. Click here for our online messages.
Rob Busse is a degreed packaging engineer and was an Engineering Manager at a packaging and supply chain consulting company where he worked for 12 years prior to becoming a pastor in January 2013.
Rob has been married to his high school sweetheart Michelle, since 2002. Their individual lives, goals, and direction were drastically changed when they personally came to know the Lord and then found Evergreen Church. They now live in Farmington and have 6 young children: Caleb, Carmine, Cole, Carly, Chloe, and Caycee.
Rob is involved with men’s ministry, small groups, and children’s ministry. He is passionate about community outreach and personal evangelism and is continually looking for ways to reach those around him with the Good News of the Gospel. As a pastor, Rob will be helping the church to grow in those areas as well as continuing to work with young families.
Eric Cram has been attending Evergreen since 1990 at the Bloomington location as a single Chiropractic student. Two years later he married the woman of his dreams and started a solo practice in Northfield. As a couple with two young children they were involved in the church plant to Lakeville. On January 2013, Eric was recognized as a Market Place Pastor, meaning he continues to work full time in his Chiropractic practice while serving as a pastor. Chiropractic has always been more of a ministry than a job to Eric. Caring for people physically, emotionally and spiritually is what God has called him to.
Eric has been involved in a number of ministries including: greeting, soundboard, playing guitar in the band, leading Discovery Year’s children’s ministry, and small group leadership. He has also been sought after to speak on marriage and Biblical parenting. Currently Eric is involved in Small Group coaching, counseling and teaching at teen Vertical nights and weekend services.
Eric and Kathy have been married since 1992. They have been blessed with four amazing children, Natalie, Ben, Hailey and Josiah. If asked Eric would describe his passion as helping others to apply God’s principles to marriage and parenting. To relax he enjoys running, playing music, and hanging out with his family.
Mike Langlois was a mechanical engineer before he became a pastor at Evergreen-Lakeville in 2002. As a pastor his primary responsibilities in serving God include overseeing the teen ministry, discipleship, prayer and church operations. From October of 2000 to November of 2004, Mike served as Evergreen’s Office Manager for all 5 locations. After being recognized as a pastor in 2002, he split his time between managing the office and pastoring at the Lakeville location. In November of 2004, he moved to being a full time pastor in Lakeville. Mike was one of the original leaders to help start the Lakeville location in 1997.
As pastor, Mike desires to see God continually grow and multiply disciples through the Lakeville location. His passion is to be about growing churches filled with ordinary people building God's Kingdom together.
Mike has been married to his wife, Cathy, since 1989 and they have four children.
Charlie’s Christian life began at Iowa State University through the Great Commission Church on campus. When he graduated as an Electrical Engineer he planned to stay in Ames and asked Roxanne to marry him. A week later they were asked to be part of a team of 11 people moving to Minneapolis to help strengthen the small Great Commission church near the U of M campus. They began their new life together in the Twin Cities in 1986.
Charlie found work as an electrical engineer for the Military Avionics division of Honeywell. During this time he developed standardization practices and served as chairman of the Corporate Standard Parts Board.
Meanwhile, that small team of 11 people grew into thousands becoming Evergreen Church in Bloomington. Charlie left Honeywell to begin pastoring there in 1996. A year later he and Mark Bowen founded the Lakeville location. These were busy years having 4 kids, leading small groups, helping develop worship teams and serving in and coaching ministries – especially the sound system.
As a pastor he focuses on teaching and other avenues to strengthen the church. He and Roxanne enjoy working together to lead the Element group of young adults. His other passion is mission work in Latin America. He has developed a unique relationship with our sister church in Venezuela and has introduced lots of people to the joy of experiencing God in the Latin culture.
Mark Bowen has been serving the Lord for decades. He has a practical, no-nonsense approach on the how-tos of loving God and others. Mark’s transparency and authenticity invite people to understand and put into practice what he is teaching. In his own unique way, he impacts listeners from all walks of life to better understand the mercy and love that God has for each of us.
Mark has been a pastor for with Evergreen since 1994. In 1997, he co-founded and continues to co-pastor Evergreen Church in Lakeville. Mark is well known for his humorous speaking style and has been called to speak on a variety of topics such as finances, parenting, marriage and singleness. He is an authority on Small Group development, training new leaders yearly on Small Group dynamics and planning.
Mark lives in the city of Burnsville, Minnesota with his wife of over 20 years, Judy and five children: Ruth, Becky, Joanna, Katie and Philip.
