What is your most valuable possession? Your money? Your house? Your vehicle? Or is it your time? Without time you would not be able to earn money to purchase the house or vehicle. Time is so valuable yet once it is spent it can never be reclaimed. The paradox of time is that everyone wants more of it yet you can never earn more, buy more, or trade for more. Everyone has the same 24 hours in a day. It is how you use those 24 hours that can define your time here on earth.
Let us imagine you have just been informed that you only have thirty days to live. Your most valuable asset, time, is being taken away. Now your days are numbered and your focus should be to prepare for your last days in this world. The legacy you leave behind is not just defined by your possessions, but also in the way you spend time in the life you live. Given only 30 remaining days, how would you spend that time differently to prepare your legacy?
Beginning in October, Evergreen-Lakeville will be embarking on a six week journey. On this journey we investigate how as a church and as individuals we can achieve the quality lives that produce lasting and worthy legacies. We will be exploring the New York Times bestselling book, "One Month To Live" by Pastor Kerry Shook and his wife Chris Shook (The Woodlands Church, Houston, TX), www.onemonthtolive.com. This book is a tool to help us learn how to create a legacy that will impact generations to come.
The richness of any journey depends on two things – the change it produces in you and in those with whom you are in relationship. It is God’s design that these two things are intertwined. Relationships are the catalyst that He uses to produce growth in our lives. This is why we will be structuring this journey around our small groups. Together, as we read the book, view video messages and interact with each other, we will learn about how we can maximize the Godly legacy we leave our family, our community, and the world.

If you are not already part of a Small Group we strongly encourage you to get connected during the six weeks of this journey. Together let's begin making every day really matter and live our lives the way God intended with passion and purpose. What will your descendants remember about you? What will the world at large remember? What will be your legacy?
